Suddenly Senior has been a leading online destination for older adults for over 20 years. As we grow, we’re committed to making our site even easier to navigate, faster to load, and more accessible to our readers—many of whom aren’t tech-savvy. We’re seeking a detail-oriented WordPress Assistant to assist in maintaining and enhancing our site’s performance and usability.

What You’ll Do

  • Update and format posts and pages using the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg)
  • Test and optimize for mobile and tablet accessibility
  • Ensure font sizes, button placements, and contrast are senior-friendly
  • Assist with installing and configuring plugins when needed
  • Run performance audits (e.g., PageSpeed Insights) and flag issues

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with WordPress (especially Gutenberg or similar builders)
  • Basic HTML/CSS familiarity is a plus, but not required
  • Eye for clean design and senior-friendly UX (big text, clear buttons, low clutter)
  • Comfort with light troubleshooting or plugin testing
  • Reliable, responsive communicator

Compensation

$25–$35 per hour, based on experience. 5–8 hours per month to start, with potential for increased hours as projects evolve.
