Suddenly Senior Jobs

About Suddenly Senior

Suddenly Senior proudly publishes stories by and for older adults. From heartfelt essays to witty observations about growing older, we believe seniors have powerful voices that deserve to be heard. We’re seeking a compassionate and organized Senior Contributor Liaison to help manage these voices—coordinating with established writers, supporting first-time contributors, and championing their work.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the point of contact for reader-submitted stories, essays, and opinion pieces
  • Help contributors polish their submissions (light editing or feedback)
  • Track submissions and maintain a publishing calendar
  • Celebrate and showcase great stories across our blog, email, and social platforms
  • Encourage participation from underrepresented voices in the senior community

What We’re Looking For

  • A warm, patient communicator who enjoys working with older adults
  • Experience in writing, editing, or coaching others to tell their stories
  • Strong organizational skills—keeping track of submissions, drafts, and approvals
  • Ability to give encouraging, constructive feedback
  • Bonus: experience in senior services, publishing, or community outreach

Compensation

$20–$30/hour depending on experience. Estimated 5–8 hours/month with flexibility.
