Having Trouble Unsubscribing?

First, here’s all you do...

To stop getting Suddenly Senior, simply send a blank e-mail to remove-sslist@suddenlysenior.com

To stop the weekly jokes, send a blank e-mail to remove-jokes@suddenlysenior.com

To stop news of interest about Medicare and Canadian drugs, send a blank e-mail to remove-rxnews@suddenlysenior.com

But YOU have to send it.

Ninety-nine percent of the time, this works!

However, sometimes we sign up under one address, then try to unsubscribe under another address. When you do this, you will get a message saying that you are not on the Suddenly Senior list. You wonder, “How can that be? I'm getting the column (or the jokes or the Senior News).”

Here’s how to find the address that you need to cancel your subscription...

In Microsoft Outlook (Outlook 2000 shown) for Windows

Right click on a message

Choose "Options".

In the screenshot you will see Internet Headers. Scroll down to near the bottom and you will see X-RCPT-TO: some e-mail address

That is the address the message was sent to.

In the event that you had an e-mail address that forwarded to another mailbox, the original address the e-mail was sent to might show as X-LR-SENT-TO:

In Outlook Express 6
for Windows

Right click on the message and choose "Properties" then click the "Details" tab. The screenshot will be displayed. Again the Internet Header will reveal the recipient as X-RCPT-TO: or X-LR-SENT-TO:

In AOL

Clicking the down arrow after "Sent from the Internet: Details" will open this window.

In Yahoo Mail

As the bottom of the message there is a link to show "Full Headers"

Then at the top of the message it will show "X-Apparently-To"

EITHER SEND A BLANK E-MAIL TO THE ADDRESS ABOVE "FROM" THIS ADDRESS OR LET FRANK KNOW OF THE ADDRESS YOU WANT TO CANCEL BY WRITING HIM AT FRANK@SUDDENLYSENIOR.COM

In Gmail:

Click Show Details and in the pull down menu choose show original.

And then you will see...

If the message was forwarded from another address it would say X-Forwarded-For:
