Having Trouble Unsubscribing? First, here’s all you do... To stop getting Suddenly Senior, simply send a blank e-mail to remove-sslist@suddenlysenior.com Ninety-nine percent of the time, this works! However, sometimes we sign up under one address, then try to unsubscribe under another address. When you do this, you will get a message saying that you are not on the Suddenly Senior list. You wonder, “How can that be? I'm getting the column (or the jokes or the Senior News).” Here’s how to find the address that you need to cancel your subscription... In Microsoft Outlook (Outlook 2000 shown) for Windows
EITHER SEND A BLANK E-MAIL TO THE ADDRESS ABOVE "FROM" THIS ADDRESS OR LET FRANK KNOW OF THE ADDRESS YOU WANT TO CANCEL BY WRITING HIM AT FRANK@SUDDENLYSENIOR.COM
Right click on the message and choose "Properties" then click the "Details" tab. The screenshot will be displayed. Again the Internet Header will reveal the recipient as X-RCPT-TO: or X-LR-SENT-TO: EITHER SEND A BLANK E-MAIL TO THE ADDRESS ABOVE "FROM" THIS ADDRESS OR LET FRANK KNOW OF THE ADDRESS YOU WANT TO CANCEL BY WRITING HIM AT FRANK@SUDDENLYSENIOR.COM Clicking the down arrow after "Sent from the Internet: Details" will open this window.
In Yahoo Mail
As the bottom of the message there is a link to show "Full Headers"
Then at the top of the message it will show "X-Apparently-To" EITHER SEND A BLANK E-MAIL TO THE ADDRESS ABOVE "FROM" THIS ADDRESS OR LET FRANK KNOW OF THE ADDRESS YOU WANT TO CANCEL BY WRITING HIM AT FRANK@SUDDENLYSENIOR.COM In Gmail:
Click Show Details and in the pull down menu choose show original. And then you will see...
If the message was forwarded from another address it would say X-Forwarded-For: EITHER SEND A BLANK E-MAIL TO THE ADDRESS "FORWARDED FOR" THIS ADDRESS OR LET FRANK KNOW OF THE ADDRESS YOU WANT TO CANCEL BY WRITING HIM AT FRANK@SUDDENLYSENIOR.COM For Other Software: Those of you who use some other software, go to http://www.haltabuse.org/help/headers/ ATTENTION AOL SUBSCRIBERS! We are receiving numerous reports from readers that blocks Suddenly Senior columns, even some of the Weekly Joke pages. The most frequent question we are hearing is: "What can I do?" NOTHING works better than public pressure. They can ignore us; they can't ignore you. Currently, AOL- and Microsoft-related email providers, including Hotmail, are preventing delivery of a range of Suddenly Senior communications to thousands of our subscribers. For the most part, all other ISPs appear to be delivering Truthout communications normally. While AOL has been largely evasive and silent about their reasons for blocking communications, our server logs and complaints from subscribers illustrate a clear pattern of interference. WE SUGGEST THAT YOU WILL BE BEST SERVED WITH A FREE GOOGLE GMAIL ACCOUNT. WE HAVE SEEN NO EVIDENCE OF GMAIL BLOCKING MAIL, AND THEIR SPAM FILTER WORKS WELL. TO GET YOUR FREE GMAIL ACCOUNT, CLICK HERE http://mail.google.com/mail/signup ATTENTION ANYONE USING SPAM FILTERS A lot of our e-mails to our AOL users are being returned with the error message that the user is not accepting email from us because of their SPAM filter settings. PUT US ON YOUR BUDDY LIST. Copy and paste these addresses: jokes@suddenlysenior.com If you don’t receive the e-mail from us, you may have us blocked without knowing it. |
